@martin_def honestly 30s it gets easier?
Even with a lot of curveballs thrown my way at the beginning of this year I feel more certain about who / what I’m being for myself and for others
Wayyyyy less BS hahaha

@Amariez10585 just crossed over into my 30s last year! All things considered I’m really glad to see where life’s going after feeling VERY uncertain about direction in my 20s lol
Yes would love to hear that — I’m a big fan of “digging through samples until I find something really sick, be it loops or one shots.”
I really want to gravitate towards generating my own live drum samples down the line for the next project, but the last things I worked on were all tied into using either @tenroc samples he sells on his store or samples that one producer The Kount sells on his store. I really found the “thickness” and “snappiness” I was looking for through their samples and it’s def gonna inform how I treat future live samples.
@User12261990 THE BUCKMINSTER FULLER
@thesuperhero oh sure! (Sorry I passed out last night lol)
Here’s an album I put out a couple years ago that you can find on Spotify and elsewhere.
I’d say tracks 2, 4 and 10 are doing the kind of style of vocal you’re looking for. In that instance the wetness knob was probably somewhere over 60-70%, and I futzed around with the frequency knobs to cut the low end I was getting from the verb out so that everything else could be heard but I also didn’t lose the high end.
@thesuperhero both! I would play around with it, that’s genuinely how I managed to figure out how to EQ the reverb and bus/group it properly.
It takes a couple tests and tries but you get there!
I imagine it’s a preset on a plug-in specifically, but you can kinda get that effect by basically cranking the depth & wetness of the verb you’re playing with. Idk what plug-in it is specifically but it would be whatever the “Himalaya” preset is.
If you’re looking to replicate it, Valhalla’s got some good free plugins you can play with, and then I bought their Vintage Verb a while back, that's the best way I’ve been able to replicate it on records of mine.
64 is probs Fox or Mario
Melee I don't remember, it's been so long but maybe the same?
For Brawl / Ultimate, Wolf, Mac and Sonic were always good, but also I love the OGs
@LaurenChua if you're able, continue on with the manga on Shonen Jump's app! you may think its crazy now but honestly it gets even more insane and amazing hahahaha
@User12261990 Still wear my GSP sweats and MPC tee, can't wait!
@Zeonder Honestly I haven't heard anything that sounds like GSP since it's been out and it's been like 6 years, that music was designed for 2040 at LEAST hahaha
TRUE - definitely one of my favorite unreleased demos that I've heard as of late
Favorite song of his is Conversations With My Wife. Couldn't stop listening the first time I heard it.
Favorite song he's worked on? It's a toss up between "thing u do" on Tori, "Worship" on Batiste's record, and "Summer in the Hamptons" on the JoBros record
Basically anything that scratches that music itch in my brain hahaha
Ooo just thought of two runners up for both categories - "Obsession" with Vice was a nonstop jam for a looooong time. Then "Basement Party" from an OOOOLD MAX record. That goes off.
@geegee456 wooooo lets gooo Jersey
@Zeonder I've yet to make the plunge into HxH. It scares me a bit, especially considering most people are unsure if Togashi is actually going to finish it! I did watch his other work, Yu Yu Hakisho absolutely ROCKS. Kuwabara is maybe one of my favorite anti-heroes.
@LaurenChua LOOOOOVE anime.
I'm pretty sure One Piece is one of the greatest stories in fiction and quite possibly could be the myth of our times that historians and philosophers will go back to once its done, like how we do the Illiad and Odyssey. I'm all caught up on the manga and it motivated me to get back into drawing and comics. Now I'm 150 pages into an adventure webcomic I'll be releasing down the line about a music-powered superhero, all because of One Piece!
I also really love Dandadan, it's such a fun and rich world. Spy x Family is also amazing, I adore the character dynamics between the main family and the comedy rules! I'm also halfway through Full Metal Alchemist, what an awesome story and world that one is, the unraveling of the plot and mystery behind it is so cool.
Of course Dragon Ball will always be my first love. I really appreciate the care and consideration the staff of this show is putting into Daima, overall it's felt so fitting for Toriyama's final Dragon Ball idea.
WOOF ok, I think it's the livestream version of Luxury, pretty sure I ascended to another plane the first time I heard it hahaha
It's like a dead heat between that and the GSP Tour arrangement of Conversations, that went HARD.
Who's been watching in here hahaha
I saw the images of the Super Saiyan 4 redesign and was so shocked that it was being reintroduced, also really love how the series helped solidfy and streamline all the lore of Dragon Ball (not that there was much lore to begin with, but it at least makes sense)
@crvptozoology YEEEES LETS GO COURT
@User12261990 Alright I gotta know because there were people who attempted copycats in various YouTube videos, but I felt like couldn't 100% replicate what you, Mark and Volta did in the studio.
What on EARTH is making that synth sound in the hook of Stupid Deep, and how did y'all even think to construct that for the record? It sounds like Link's Ocarina being run through a low octavizer and then amplifier to get that hyper-specific "alien but also human" vibe.
