I feel kinda bad for saying this and I get if you disagree but I feel like we're getting carried away with superfan stuff. Like some of the things I read would shock me if it was written about me, and that's kinda the standard I like to apply for everything.
"Would I be weirded out by this if it was about me?" And if the answer is yes you probably shouldn't post it.
Again I kinda feel like an asshole saying this and maybe Jon doesn't mind it anymore but he's been an artist that is pretty adamant against fans having para social relations with him.
TLDR: Let the artist be an artist and not your imaginary husband or bff.
I think I'm headed in the right direction

I whole heartedly agree. I think that living in a society where your job (even a regular 9-5’s) is so closely related to some people’s identities it gets easy to look at them as simply their title. Couple that with 24/7 media coverage and now social media, and it’s really easy to idolize people. But the you remember how many roles a single person plays in the lives of others (parent, sibling, etc) and you’ll quickly realize you don’t even know a faction of the people your idolizing.
Remember dreams seemed far away. Was pinching pennies like Lane and Hardaway. Now my beats make feasts for holidays in Greece. And I don't mean John Travolta.

Man, this is a really good reminder. And I truly do apologize if I’ve fallen victim to this mindset since the forum’s launch, but I 100% agree. The last thing I would want is to invade or make uncomfortable the personal space of an artist I greatly admire.
Thanks for this reminder brother

thank you for posting this—i think it's so easy to fall into the trap of putting people we admire (especially celebrities and artists) on a pedestal, but at the end of the day, they're human just like the rest of us. i agree that people can get carried away with the things that they say about him, and it's good to keep in mind what we are saying and posting as we navigate the space here :))

As someone who’s probably accidentally done this a time or two, this is a good post. I’ve seen a lot of this on the forum

@notsobasic I 100% agree. I think that’s why I only come online like once or twice a day because I feel like I’m not really connecting with a lot of people on the forum because I’m approaching my love for Jon’s art differenty
