Hi, I’ve been lurking on this forum since it launched. Super excited for the new stuff coming up. Just wanted to share some memories that I have with JB’s music.
Think of Mcdonald’s but just ice cream. This was my first job. The job was easy as ever, just serving ice cream and trying to brighten up people’s days.
The minute my store closed, we locked the windows, turned off the lights, and brought out the $10 speaker. This speaker only played one artist: Jon Bellion. Every single coworker loved JB. LOVED. It was like a mandatory requirement to work there! So naturally, I started listening to JB, and now he’s been my top artist on my spotify wrapped for the past 5-6 years! (sorry linkin park).
On the closing shifts, my coworkers would scream so loud to Good Things Fall Apart while I was taking people’s orders (they would look behind me at them like they were maniacs), blast 80’s Film’s while speeding in our cars to Whataburger, and just appreciate his music all the time. (we were nerds…) Like, the music never gets old! There’s always something that we never noticed from the song before, or there’s some random demo that we discover, or the lyrics just stick more than ever. I’m talking a couple years of just JB. And it never got old. JB even inspired some of us to start making our own music. It’s crazy what one person’s artistry can do to other people’s lives!
It’s so weird, even so many years later, it doesn’t get old because of those memories I have with the music. I appreciate JB and the magic you have created in my life. Even though I don’t talk to my old coworkers now, I’m sure if you announced a tour, the old work group chat would be exploding. That’s how much your music sticks. Hope this wasn’t too long of a read! -
