KID AGAIN acoustic?
-
I’m not sure if anyone’s talked about this, but in the behind the scenes that was sent out for KID AGAIN there was a lot of footage that we saw that wasn’t included into the final song. For instance, we saw Jon play KID AGAIN on piano with accompanying strings as he sang, which we didn’t hear in the final version, nor did we hear the choir that he brought in at the end of the video. When KID AGAIN was first released, I was confused as to where all those elements went that we saw in the bts, but now I’m wondering—was this the process of making an acoustic version for KID AGAIN?

My theory is that the album version of Kid Again is gonna look a lot different than the single release. This version of Kid Again confirms that a piano version exists, so we may see all those elements you mentioned also included on the album version

@its_nat07 he could release it but also just because he records it doesn’t mean he feels like it should be released. maybe he thinks the vibe of kid again shouldn’t be acoustic (i would love an acoustic version personally) but who knows he might release it. i hope so

@Isaac yeah that’s a totally fair take!! i’ve thought about that too—i’ve definitely felt like the current release of KID AGAIN doesn’t really have a resolution or real ending? it feels like it just abruptly cuts off which would point to it not being the full version that we may get on the album (if KID AGAIN isn’t just a one-and-done single like Woodstock). altho, i don't think that the piano version right there is the same version that Jon plays in the bts—Jon sings a slightly different melody in this version than in the bts.
also, if KID AGAIN is on his new album, there’s a chance that the album will have both the current release AND the acoustic (with the elements from the bts) bc Jon has stated that this is the first time that he has both an og song and the acoustic on the same album“I figured out there’s money in my mind.”

@gunki yeah true true, i totally get that. i really hope he makes an acoustic hahaha my only thing is that if he doesn’t think it should be released i’m not sure why he’d include it in the bts instead of cut it out?

He released an acoustic version on TikTok prop a week after the normal one was released, it’s sadly taken down now. But I expect him to fully release it later down the line

@its_nat07 I hope he does put out the acoustic version of kid again bc I love it even though I haven’t heard the whole thing but the short snippet of it.
