This is kinda funny.
Back in like 2018 maybe, someone wrote a story I read that featured the lyrics of Overwhelming. I decided to listen to the song to get the full context, and genuinely hated it. Did not like it at all, couldn’t understand why anyone would listen to it.
It then got stuck in my head over the next few days, and I eventually came back to it trying to figure out what was even good or interesting about it, and then it started to grow on me. Listened to the whole album, hated a lot of it at first, eventually loved most of it, and I’ve kinda been in ever since.

i had a similar experience—aside from All Time Low (which i’d only ever heard in edits and hadn’t actually heard the song the whole way thru), Overwhelming was the first song i heard by Jon and at first i was like “wtf is THIS”. i did NOT think it sounded good, but i gave it another shot and i realized it was rlly rlly rlly dope and it grew on me—i’ve f’d w his music since then“I figured out there’s money in my mind.”
