I made those signs!! Over 1500 unique handmade "thank you" signs. I got to the venue at 4 am to make sure I could hand them out to everyone. Jon's music means so much to me, and getting to create a small project to show him that meant the world.
His instagram story post after the show read: "Portland. Words will never do justice to how that show felt for me. Thank you."
I posted my own video from the barricade here: https://youtu.be/KfshyqZ1cQ0
@Forest I choked up as soon as I saw his reaction and then AGAIN when the cameras panned to the audience to show just how many signs there were. That act of love- and then to extend it to the rest of the fans- is just indescribable.
I hope that @User12261990 sees this thread and your post. You're phenomenal
Screw your pops let’s get some IHOP

During Jon's GSP show in Portland there were a few girls who handed out papers to everyone that said things along the lines of "We Love You" and "THANK YOU." They told us that when Stupid Deep started playing that we were all going to put the papers up. I didn't realize how many people got those papers, because when Stupid Deep started playing pretty much every person in the crowd was holding a paper.
I remember Jon's reaction. That moment of confusion and then he had to stop the music for a minute. He started choking on his words as he said, "Thank you." He went on to tell us that the music industry just takes and takes from you so this moment meant a lot to him. Then he performed the song flawlessly.
I remember right after the show he tweeted something along the lines of he was going to remember that Portland show for a long time.
It wasn't until I watched the podcast where he explained the hell that touring was for him that I realized how big of a moment that was. Here's a link to the video someone uploaded of this moment.

Although I guess if I knew tomorrow
I guess I wouldn't need faith
I guess if I never fell, I guess I wouldn't need grace
I guess if I knew His plans, I guess He wouldn't be God, God, God
