I have a podcast called "Your Play Or Mine" that deep dives on the crossovers between the creative arts and sports that I've been working to get Jon to feature on as a guest.
Rather than standard interview questions that he's heard before I would love to look at his creative career through a sporting lens. Particularly with a focus on basketball since he's passionate about it and especially now that he's invested in The Next Chapter!These are the kinds of questions I'd have for Jon if he came on the podcast but I would love to hear if you all have any to add!
- What is your first sporting memory?
- Who is your sporting Greatest Of All Time?
- What is the most emotional sporting moment you've experienced?
- Sharing the wealth - My favourite sports people uplift others. You do that with Beautiful Mind & your songwriting, why does that hold such value?
- Underdog mentality - You’ve always rejected being put on a pedestal for your work but that has happened through its resonance with people. Have there been moments you were tempted to lose the underdog mentality?
- Redemption arc - The Next Chapter can offer a chance at something talented players feel was owed to them. Does your label release/new music feel like somewhat of a personal redemption arc?
- Global Jon vs Home Jon - I’ve seen you play in Europe & Australia and you’re always amazed by crowd size & engagement. How do you self regulate as someone whose talent enables a global reach but seems most content at home with family?
- What rule, ritual or regulation would you try to cross over from basketball to being a musician?

Jon said in a comment he’d be open to doing more podcasts this time around. Do you guys have any podcasts or interviewers that you’d love to see him be a guest on?
Personally, I know Zach Sang is a huge fan of Jon and he’s interviewed him years ago. I think a 2025 interview with Jon would be sooo great. Especially since Zach usually asks such deep questions and is such a fan of Jon.
