Hi Jon @User12261990 I hope you’re doing okay and get the chance to see this. As someone who’s been a supporter of yours since Translation Through Speakers I’ve witnessed (and heard lol) a lot of growth in your music and production. That being said, i wanted to ask is there any record you’ve made previously that you think you’ve outgrown? Or maybe a song you wouldn’t perform again? If yes, which?

You don’t have to hate it and I know they all contributed to where you are now, but I know sometimes artistes hear their old songs and cringe I was just curious if there’s any you listen to now and go “yikes thats on the album huh”.

I just rewatched the video of Jon making pre-occupied after years of not seeing it and it just reminds me how talented he really is. It’s one of my fav songs from him and just the process from a simple drum sequence to vocals to the lyrics is soooo good!

I wanted to know if anyone is giving anything up? If yes, and you mind sharing, what is it/are they?

I’m having a hard time trying to think of what to sacrifice because I don’t even mindlessly scroll on social media. My screen time is high because of the various things I use but my highest number is instagram which is 2 hours a day and YouTube because I listen to ASMR to sleep (so it doesn’t count). I’m looking for suggestions.

@OverwhelmMe “its tough being a "fan" of music that no one else IRL appreciates, let alone has heard about, and despite my best attempts at converting friends, not everyone "gets it." Oh my gosh you verbalised exactly how I’ve felt about Jon. I got one of my best friends into his music industry high school so I can talk to him about it but no one else really. If it were another silly artiste I wouldn’t care but Jon’s music has saved me when I was in some of the most difficult periods of my life and wherever people ask for my music taste he’s one of the top 3 I start with. I’m glad you could discuss it in therapy. I might too.

I’m currently doing some self-care and I have Jon’s whole catalogue on shuffle trying to see if I can guess the song from the opening chord (or 5 secs in some cases). It’s pretty fun! For those who are bored you can try that.
