nah hard disagree here. the whole point is to slow down, force us to use a web browser and sign in to read occasionally. not scroll on an app mindlessly or use it on our phones constantly. the barrier to consumption is a feature

yeah I wasn't able to login with my username either, only my email address.. but in my case it doesn't look like my username changed. strange
