His old/unreleased songs always hold the deepest meaning for me especially since I can currently relate to where he musically was back then. My favorite Jon song ever is “Chase The Sun”.

Suggestion for an artist struggling to find their voiceNot Jon, but I’m 23, a hiphop producer/songwriter in ny and know a lot of people who “made it” so I can probably give you something of value I notice working w them. You said you’ve been writing on and off, I think you should change that and write everyday, even if it isn’t “good”. Each time you write, think of it as gaining XP. The issue you’re experiencing is less likely to do w confidence and more so w comforbility talking out loud. Music is these days, unfortunately, is less about what you say but how you convey what you say. You have to, in sense be delusional, even if you don’t believe what you’re saying. If you can’t feel yourself, no one will feel you, and the listeners will feel that. All in all, keep going, if your words don’t feel as strong when saying them find a different way to say them, and don’t hone in on finding your swag or aura, let your natural vibe be the aura.

What songs mean the most to you and why?Hand Of God 100%. The instrumentation, the choir, the cover art reiterating the story of the song. I feel THC was perfectly crafted like a Pixar movie and Hand Of God is the perfect ending that ties the whole project together. Plus the song is just very meaningful to me.

What keeps people from following their dreams?I’d say it’s the safety net. Anyone can accomplish anything if they commit to it 100% but it’s hard doing so while also having to make room for in case things don’t go as planned
