Hand of God showed up in a feed at some point and led me down a rabbit hole of trying to find where these lyrics came from. That's when I found out it was an outro and there was a whole other album that I fell in love with and it just went from there. Mahs Joint. I love its movements, "mother to her mom," "physically" and "spiritually". When my mom passed, Mahs Joint started hitting me in such a different way. It was a song I used to introduce my middle son to the deeper meanings of music. How musicality/layering/fine detail resonates on a spiritual level, and how the arrangement tells a story. The song brings legacy for us and reminds us that Nana is here, both physically in my sister and spiritually. That song slows my whole soul down and sometimes I can't listen to it. Just like Beyond The Veil by Daryl Coley, it tears me to pieces.
