Listening to Jon was key to strengthening and making a handful of relationships in my life.
It started in middle school when this girl, a friend of a friend, found out I also listened to Jon. She had an extra ticket for Jon's concert at The Fillmore so she offered it to me. We had been in the same social circle but never spoke much to each other. Her dad drove us and during that 40 minute drive, we talked more than we ever had. We insisted on blaring the THC album too, even through the Taco Bell drive-through.
Even with that experience though, we never were friends that spoke on a daily basis; or a regular one for that matter. But then the rumors of GSP started popping up and there we were, two little conspiracy theorists. This time around, she informed me she knew of two other people who were fans. One of which I already knew, a close friend of mine. Somehow, we had never talked about music. We talked for hours when I brought it up about which songs were our favorites and why. The four of us ended up going to see Jon at the Meadow Brook Theatre where I was introduced to the wonderful Lawrence.
There's another story, but I don't think I'll tell that one on here. Just know for me, if you listen to Jon, we already have some sort of understanding between us. I can't wait to see what or who the new album brings
