@Stang8 They are different, you can compare them based on listening quality. I don't wanna misspeak, but CDs are a digital format that support different file formats, each of which have different bitrates. CD quality standard is 1,411 kbps vs the 320 kbps (MP3 quality) you get with Spotify. Vinyl is an analogue format, so it doesn't have a bitrate per se- people can only approximate what it would be close to (which is why I say "listening" quality). No matter what, you have to have proper equipment to even reproduce the full range of frequencies. I just personally like the size and artwork of a CD and its case
@beggyman Holy cow, the farthest I got was Tidals sound. I'm assuming I can pop into the sound system subreddit for recommendations on getting that quality 10/10?

@Stang8 So Tidal and some other HD/ HiFi websites offer tracks at a higher bitrate than what CD can offer. However, they are limited by what the artists puts out or makes available. If the track/ album was mastered at a higher quality and made available for digital download, then that is probably your best option for "technically" superior audio quality. hdtracks.com is probably the best place to buy those kind of files.

@beggyman Oh wow, looks like I accidentally stumbled into the right place for that. Tidal is nice for its integrations and also single subscription, but I would prefer to buy outright, seems like hdtracks is the way to go. Pity they don't have more

@User12261990 It is Vinyl for me, I love them for building a collection also there is more intention when you take the time to listen to an album on Vinyl.

@User12261990 I think a vinyl would be awesome especially being able to hang it and make it conversation starter and still being able to hear wonderful music but a good idea could be doing different colors for the records to give each once it’s own personality

@User12261990 I collect CDs! I have a copy of almost every album you've ever featured on, even the most obscure stuff like Searching Sylvan and a Beautiful Now Single disc. I can't find a copy of Hotel TV for the life of me, that's the last one I need.

@User12261990 I would really like the vinyl tbh

@_birdyblue_5 I joined the Jon Bellion club around the Human Condition era. I have THC and GSP cds, but have always wanted copies of the other ones. You get so much more sound quality than on streaming (assuming you are using a proper stereo setup). What all has been released on CD? I know his older albums are available on vinyl.
@beggyman Just THC and GSP got released on CD. The files for his OG mixtapes used to be available to download for free on his website so you could make your own CD, but those files haven't been up for years.
