i'm not sure if at this point this is common knowledge but gotta keep the forum moving. Did you know that Jon's chest tattoo is the sheet music for his first song ever "Hear Me Out"? The thing is at that time he did not know how to read sheet music so he played the song into a software, printed it out and got it tattooed. There's a big chance that Jon still don't know how to read sheet music since he was born with perfect pitch and just play by ear!

hes def gotta know how to read now, but I always share this fact its such a motivation for people trying to get into music, so many people think you need all this music theory, so many people say "you have to know the rules to break them"... nah most the people out here setting new standards are people having fun and experimenting with music, dont get me wrong, the theory people like Jacob Collier and Jon Batiste are AMAZING, but the NEW SOUNDS come from childlike enjoyment and play with the music. Always so motivating to see thats how many of these great artists started

@enzomayworm yesss, recently I've realized how specific that is too, look at Jons career, he admits he couldn't do it without the people around him that he has and alot of them hone in on what they do, they mainly sing, or play guitar, or master tracks, Jon the one with the vision but these people are needed. If you love playing bass then JUST PLAY BASS. even if you dont wanna be a band, theres tons of opportunity working with other artists almost as a "solo" artist still. idk just was eye opening for me

Its kinda crazy talking about this project cuz you're literally the first person in the world to hear about it and i've been working on the album's concept since June last year haha. I got the tracklist all set up and will start cooking next week

@enzomayworm Def will have to check out some of those names, tysm! and yeah it seems like something you definitely gotta be hands on with, and as a hand on learner already myself ima just have to watch a video then mess around with what I learned for the day. no doubt you can probably see a change, it probably adds so much more confidence into the changes you make and as random as it sounds probably helps you remember things easier, like rn I'm just like that sounds dope so I dont wanna change it and risk forgetting so I make another save, but if you understand the theory of exactly how you did that you aint afraid to mess with it
