WE ARE GOING TO THE MOTHERLAND (ITALY)

So my wife and I are going to Italy(going to thinking about Jon the entire time) at the beginning of April, we will be spending most of our time in Rome. It'll be our first time visiting, so I figured this might be a good place to see if anyone had any suggestions for food (most importantly) or more local activities/places to check out while we are there. I appreciate any suggestions

NOOOO WAY omg you’re going to have so much fun! I’ve been three times actually. Whatever you do, you HAVEEE to do the food tour in trastevere! It’s like the “Brooklyn” of Rome but there’s a local guide and they take you to the BEST food spots that are not as touristy and gimmicky! I gotta find you the name of the tour!

@catkeleghan Could you drop me a link? Also our friends just went and stayed in Trastevere, and they loved it, so it was on the list! This is my first trip to Europe, so I'm so stoked!

Always been a dream vacation, there and Ireland. Hope it goes good, prayers and blessing your way. You have any idea of specific spots you wanna visit yet? Or any dishes u thinking of trying? Always wanted to visit the colosseum and try some fried pasta as typical as that is lol

So we are there during my birthday. I told my wife all I care about is seeing the Colosseum on my birthday, eating authentic Italian pizza, and the Appian Way because Paul walked and taught on that path. Then of course Vatican City. It's the year of Jubilee, so there is a lot of other special things going on which is super cool.

I’ve never been to Italy but I always dreamed of going there. Is it true that u have to be vaccinated (covid vaccine) to go to Italy?

@kkirby20 Watch out for tourist traps, and be prepared for when you encounter them LOL. I went to italy a year ago (venice, so a little different) and was caught off guard by all of the tourist traps. Ended up spending a fair bit of my vacation funds before I even realized what was happening. The larger the sign doesn't always equal better. Also try to find somebody local before you go that can help tour you around, whether it be an actual tour guide, AirBNB host, or something similar haha. Always good to have a local in your corner
