Out of curiosity, was wondering if we’ll be able to access new music through the forum prior to streaming services? If so, what format would they be in? Big audiophile over here and only listen to your music lossless lol

@noah99walter I would also love to see this! I love this whole website concept in general.

@User12261990 same as Lawrence does, would love to see Splitter.fm stems from the new album when it comes out, if that’d be something you’d be interested in doing!

A breakdown of what you use for digital vocal harmonics, vocoding, shifting, etc. And if you’re REALLY feeling it a break down of the Mah’s Joint vocal production/arrangement/processing would only make me extremely happy
@aarenas_16 the GSP documentary on YouTube goes into Mah’s Joint production, if you’re interested!

It’s towards the end!

I know God is always with you, but man do you ever just fully feel God in that production room with you? Ever pray before or after, or talk out loud to him randomly? I know I have when I hit a insane riff, I just make all my reactions towards him bc I know where it comes from

I dont mean to throw people under the buss, but whos undeniably the most gifted person you worked with, more specifically talent in that room when you were producing. Like Pharrell, Quincy Jones are obviously GOATs, but who really brought the energy that day in the room to where you kinda just stepped back and let them run with it

Categories will consistently change depending on the roll out. But if their is a category yall would want to have me speak on or interact with (ex: sonic approach, lyric explanation, intention and purpose of certain songs, equipment used, DAW details, Synth parameters, vocal presets, sample references, mix intentions, vocal approaches) suggest them here.
@User12261990 LYRIC EXPLANATION PLEASEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE. I think it could be super dope to have a place to talk about the way that people have individually interpreted lyrics of yours and you could provide your original intentions. I feel like it could be a really cool collaborative space
always me <3

if you only had one hour to write a song from start to finish.
what would your process be?
-
Lyric explanation!!! I've always wondered if Woke the F up was an allusion to your "coming to faith" in Christ. It seems to be a creative way to demonstrate being woken up and needing the Lord.
Also, I really want to know if you are alluding to the Trinity in KID AGAIN hahaha. It seems like some obvious John 3 referencing. Sun = Son, Wind = Spirit, and God = Father. Would love to hear if you intended that haha!

@User12261990 I'd agree with the lyric breakdown requests. I had a lot of thoughts particularly when I first heard Mah's Joint, not only about the lyrics (as someone with Alzheimer's in the family) but also the general vibe of the different sections of the song and would love to hear more about the intentionality of musical and lyrical choices in songs.

@User12261990 sonic approach & just the writing process. i watch your "how _____ song was made" videos all the time on youtube and im so intrigued. i want to better my own writing process and find my own sound
and also how you go about writing lyrics. gosh i am bad at writing lyrics and i'd love to know your process
and i know so many other people have said this, but lyric explanation. you have such a gift of poetry, God given as He's the OG mysterious poet, and im sure some of it stays a mystery - that's what's so beautiful about it. but i'd love to hear some thoughts behind some of those lyrics as well!

@User12261990 Thank you so much to you and the team for creating this gathering place for all of us to link up. I'm a high school Music Production and Theory teacher. I've been a huge fan of your art since the THC days, and love using your "Making of" videos in class during our discussions of the creative process. I think it would be incredible to have more resources like you mentioned (DAW breakdowns, preset and plugin preferences, recording tips and tricks, etc.) We do lots of discussions about the different lines of work they can get into, and how to hone their skillset, and having more from someone like you that has diversified how many ways you can share and create, would be so helpful in this post-pandemic, ease of access type music world!
