@User12261990 We’ve already been fortunate to get an inside look at a lot of your creation process, thank you for that. 2 things I’ve always been curious about: 1. What is your process for sound choice, especially drums? Are you creating your own samples, sharing with other artists, etc. 2. With vocals, has it always been something you’ve had confidence in and what have been some cornerstones in growing as a vocalist?

What’s your process for writing horn lines? Do you play it out on the keyboard or is it singing the rhythm and musicians playing it out?

@User12261990 would love for you to dive in on what your collaboration with @tenroc and the rest of the production team means to you. Tenroc is incredibly impressive and you guys have really put your stamp on the music world. I guess more specifically what have you learned from Tenroc and on the flip side, how are you fostering his growth?
Really feels like you’ve got such a great creative team around you with similar values. Just would love to know more about the journey of building that and what you look for in collaborators.
…realise there’s multiple questions here. But I think you get the gist.
Also, not sure if you’ll remember, but in your first tour, I was part of that dance circle we had in tampa! Then you invited us backstage in Orlando. Such a great memory of mine!

Honestly, the same as always. Everything. The making of videos, documentaries, behind the scenes about my favourite songs and albums is why I got pulled in and became such a huge fan more than 7 years ago now. I really really miss it and just want that again.

A breakdown of what you use for digital vocal harmonics, vocoding, shifting, etc. And if you’re REALLY feeling it a break down of the Mah’s Joint vocal production/arrangement/processing would only make me extremely happy

I'd love to dive into more of the mixing side of your music and the hardware/plugins you use for processing. Think you could go into a deep dive of a session and show what you're up to?

Out of curiosity, was wondering if we’ll be able to access new music through the forum prior to streaming services? If so, what format would they be in? Big audiophile over here and only listen to your music lossless lol

@User12261990 same as Lawrence does, would love to see Splitter.fm stems from the new album when it comes out, if that’d be something you’d be interested in doing!

I know God is always with you, but man do you ever just fully feel God in that production room with you? Ever pray before or after, or talk out loud to him randomly? I know I have when I hit a insane riff, I just make all my reactions towards him bc I know where it comes from

We need an Easter Egg Section because we love to theorize all the meanings of your songs and cover art and album themes lol

I dont mean to throw people under the buss, but whos undeniably the most gifted person you worked with, more specifically talent in that room when you were producing. Like Pharrell, Quincy Jones are obviously GOATs, but who really brought the energy that day in the room to where you kinda just stepped back and let them run with it

Daw Details for sure!!!
-
Categories will consistently change depending on the roll out. But if their is a category yall would want to have me speak on or interact with (ex: sonic approach, lyric explanation, intention and purpose of certain songs, equipment used, DAW details, Synth parameters, vocal presets, sample references, mix intentions, vocal approaches) suggest them here.
wrote 25 days ago last edited by@User12261990 LYRIC EXPLANATION PLEASEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE. I think it could be super dope to have a place to talk about the way that people have individually interpreted lyrics of yours and you could provide your original intentions. I feel like it could be a really cool collaborative space

if you only had one hour to write a song from start to finish.
what would your process be?

Lyric explanation!!! I've always wondered if Woke the F up was an allusion to your "coming to faith" in Christ. It seems to be a creative way to demonstrate being woken up and needing the Lord.
Also, I really want to know if you are alluding to the Trinity in KID AGAIN hahaha. It seems like some obvious John 3 referencing. Sun = Son, Wind = Spirit, and God = Father. Would love to hear if you intended that haha!

wrote 25 days ago last edited by@User12261990 I'd agree with the lyric breakdown requests. I had a lot of thoughts particularly when I first heard Mah's Joint, not only about the lyrics (as someone with Alzheimer's in the family) but also the general vibe of the different sections of the song and would love to hear more about the intentionality of musical and lyrical choices in songs.
