Believe it or not, the first time I heard Jon Bellion was at 10 years old, binge-watching America’s Got Talent clips on YouTube. In 2017, I stumbled across Merrick Hanna’s robot dance and got hooked on the song he used—so much so that I memorized the lyrics, Googled them, and found iRobot.
Fast forward five weeks, my older brother (19 at the time) was driving me to the library when his playlist shuffled to a Jon Bellion song. I mentioned knowing iRobot, so he queued up Guillotine and said, “This one is better.” And man, it’s still my #1 song to this day.
That moment kickstarted an unspoken tradition: every car ride, we swapped songs. He introduced me to The Human Condition and later Glory Sound Prep, and before we knew it, music became our thing.
Years later, when KID AGAIN dropped, I casually mentioned it, and my brother spat his drink out. We ended up behind a Taco Bell at 11 PM, reviewing it together. Our verdict? A+, but Guillotine still reigns supreme.
Thanks Jon!
