I cannot put my finger on it, but if anyone else could help me, I would really appreciate it! I believe it’s an older song that has a similar/same chord progression as the chorus, and @User12261990 if you did take specific inspiration from a song for the production of high water I’d love to know which song!
Both back to back “shine on” and “high water” on TORI. go crazy. “shine on” is probably one of the most Jon Bellion-sounding joints on any album that he’s worked on, super underrated

Duuuuude, want most Jon Bellion sounding joint play Americana off the Jonas brothers album, legit can’t not hear that in Jon’s voice, but the early part and strings remind me of some early 2000s R&B, certain parts also remind me of early Brittany Spears ngl, I def agree it has a familiar sound though in the chorus seperate from both those things I jsut can’t put my finger on it. Just actually listened to the Tori album through yesturday, such a dope record

@Zeonder YESS AMERICANA is very much Jon, sounds like something you could hear on GSP, or just post-GSP, similar to Crop Circles. The Album is truly a masterpiece, the only Jonas Brothers project I like haha
