I remember hearing "Waves of loneliness" and going "wow, so he's a ~storyteller~ first and a singer second."
The way the story, music, his voice all came together to create the perfect mix of the song that I'm still in awe of even 12 years later...I come from a small country (Kyrgyzstan, Central Asia), and Jon's sound (especially back in 2013) is definitely unique. Even now, as I play his music to my fiance, to my friends and family, even to my students (I am a teacher) - I know what everyone is going to ask once the first song is over: "what genre is this?" and we all know that sonically, he's a genius, but it's his lyrics and his delivery that make him stand out.
What is it for you that makes him different from any other artist in the world?

honestly when I found him, I was hella young and didnt have a grasp of how to find music outside of whatever played on NZ radio so the main music I knew was music my parents played (which to their credit, was absolutely amazing, loved growing up in a very music inclined family), heard LIFE from TTS off a cod montage in 2013 and that alone was enough to change my perception on pop music forever, but in extension really the whole of TTS did that for me.
When I look at it now, as someone who listens to alot of music and listens quite broadly, it's definitely the production, that dilla and other influences, mixed with his writing and versatility.

watching his making of videos - specifically luxury and preoccupied. at the time I didn't know many artists who wrote, produced, and sang everything themselves and was blown away by the talent
@bluluxury yes, this as well! was sad when I realized that there were no more videos after the making of Stupid Deep was released, but as Jon said, "I love the song and we really wanna know how you made it or I could keep all you wondering how we been creating"
