Each of my life stages have that that song. Started with “Don’t ask cuz I don’t know”, flash forward and my wife is walking down the aisle to me to the sounds of “to my future wife”.
Doesn’t have to be a Jon song, it could be one he produced. I know we all connect to his music in our own ways and we all love to gush about it. So do it here! Tell me your stories! —JAA
It took a little while for your mind to find it, but once you saw the genius it’s intimidating isn’t it?

Guillotine has a special place in my heart because that was the first song I heard from Jon when Jenna Marbles and Julien made a video with it called the Otter Hand Dance. Then it became more important for me when I started dating my partner because of everything I had gone through in life at that point. He was patient and understood everything I told him about my life and he never made me feel crazy. “The secrets you tell me I’ll take to my grave, there’s bones in your closet but I’ll hang stuff anyways.” We now have a 2 year old together and when Jon released Kid Again that just spoke to everything in my soul because I get to be a kid again with my kid. It helped heal childhood/generational trauma that I never want my kid to have to go through. This new album is going to RUIN ME.
The greatest thing you’ll ever learn is just to love and be loved in return <3

It's so hard to choose just one! But if I have to, I'd say one of his unreleased: Hear Me Out. It's said to be his very first song but idk. The lyrics resonated with me all throughout my high school years when I officially found a passion for music! I felt like no one understood UNTIL I heard it. I already loved Jon, but that song made me feel comfort in knowing that there was true empathy in his music. But like I said, after being a fan for almost over a decade, it's hard to choose one. You can listen to Hear Me Out on SoundCloud (you'd be able to hear serious growth in his production and writing/singing from then to now lol... but) Give it a listen to if you haven't already!

Hand Of God 100%. The instrumentation, the choir, the cover art reiterating the story of the song. I feel THC was perfectly crafted like a Pixar movie and Hand Of God is the perfect ending that ties the whole project together. Plus the song is just very meaningful to me.

“Adult Swim”. The buddy I started making music with in 2016 had gotten into Tuamie around the same time I got into Jon, and we both had the chance to introduce eachother to our respective interests. Having both of our favorites collaborate on a record of that level is really special. The song has felt like an exhibit in a museum that I have gotten to revisit over the past 6 years at different points in my professional/artistic pursuits. It has acted as a motivator through blaring inside of my car on my way to many challenging work-days, and it has acted as a benchmark for the music I have created since. Bars don’t get set that high very often.
side-bar: I’m selfishly hoping the day comes that we get to hear “Postpartum Depression” in it’s entirety. If he needs another verse for that one, I might know a guy.

@magnoliawhites I LOVE reading about how many fans are connected to his artistry though their own art themselves
