dear Jon,
you don’t know me but your music has shaped me not only as a christian but as an artist. i’ve been listening to your music since i was 14. 10 years later you’re still the artist i put on shuffle when i feel lost. 3 years ago i knew my now fiancée was “the one” when i queued up Luxury while we were sitting on my fire escape in Washington Heights and he knew every word. we’re both longtime listeners. throughout our early adulthood your music has been a medium in which we are able to see ourselves represented. striving to be in the world and not of the world has been made easier for us by you. my fiancé sam’s mom was killed by a drunk driver in 2021 and his grandpa passed just away a few days ago. having your music to turn to (especially Mah’s Joint and Hand of God - Outro) has made us feel less alone in our grief. when i saw the BMForum go live, i knew i had to try to use it to thank you. thank you for being a role model, for rejecting celebrity culture and mostly for using your calling to inspire me to keep fighting the good fight. can’t wait to listen to whatever is coming!!
PS our first dance at our wedding will be to Conversations with my Wife (acoustic version). lmk where i can send you an invite
sincerely,
