Christians often say they're "covered in the blood" meaning that Jesus' sacrifice on the cross covers their sins

"Spiritual warfare" is a term for praying over your family + fighting to overcome spiritual issues. Spiritual warfare often involves resolving internal conflict, working through generational trauma, battling addiction + habits... The shoes being covered in blood is a symbol for walking through a metaphorical battlefield, and fighting for your family as a father
