THE ILLUSION OF US
Holding you in my arms while you hold our daughters in yours...
Kissing your head goodnight while I hold you in my arms until we both partto different worlds in our dreams...
Though I know mine will still be yours...
Knowing and having to call you mine has Been the peak of my downward spiralling life...
Kissing you is the only time my demons flee...
Knowing the can't contend with the light you open my heart to...
Waking up to the sight of you has always been the catalyst of my day...
The determinant if it'll be a great one or not...
And just watching you sleep peacefully in those early morning hours...
No memory or image beats the perfection of that moment...
And loving you has never been a burden to me....
Because you make everything easy...
Even loving myself....
But in the end, you're just an Illusion ...
A fragment of my delusions....
An image of a delinquent mind and a grieving soul...
